The 3rd Hutchinson Lecture

This plenary paper will be published in Landslides and summarises the contents of the Hutchinson Lecture delivered last summer in Oslo, Norway.

Thanks to the support of Prof. Jinhyun Choo and Dr Liang Zhengyu, we were able to advance the simulation of flow-type landslides through forests. This is a significant improvement in modelling complex geohazards in the face of climate change to enhance the preparedness and resiliency of mountainous urban areas globally.
